Acaricides

MARGINTA 24.14% SC

Margenta is a non-systemic insecticide of Jordanian origin with a dual action, working by contact and as an intestinal toxin, It penetrates the leaf tissues and is stored within, killing pests that feed on the internal contents of the leaf.

MARGINTA 24.14% SC

composition:

Spiromesifen 23%
Abamectin 1.14%

Mode of Action:

Spiromesifen: (by contact) is a non-systemic insecticide that inhibits the biosynthesis of triglycerides and free fatty acids, leading to the inhibition of molting and causing rapid paralysis in insect and acarid pests, stopping their movement and feeding, They typically die within 3 to 4 days post-treatment.

Abamectin: (by contact & ingestion) is a toxic agent that opens chloride channels in the nervous system, which activates gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), preventing the transmission of nerve signals between nerves and muscles, resulting in paralysis of the pest and loss of its ability to move and feed, leading to quick death.

Advantages:

  • It has a broad-spectrum effect on many insects across various crops due to the presence of two active ingredients that combat insects and acarids that have developed resistance to other conventional insecticides.
  • It exhibits excellent and high efficiency against whitefly eggs and nymphs, making them susceptible to this insecticide, unlike other insecticides.
  • It has a strong effect on reducing female fertility, consequently lowering the rates of egg-laying and hatching.
  • It shows excellent efficacy and extended residual effects against all life stages of acarids, including eggs, larvae, nymphs, and adult females.
  • It is registered for use on various crops to combat numerous pests (red spider mite, European red spider mite, flat mite, whiteflies, leaf miners, citrus rust mite, two-spotted spider mite, begomovirus, and thrips).
  • It quickly translocates within plant tissues, remaining effective even after rainfall post-application.
  • This insecticide offers flexibility in application timing and has long-lasting efficacy, combating a wide range of insect pests at low doses.
  • It is compatible with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs.
  • It does not leave cumulative residues in food crops.
  • It can be mixed with most insecticides and fungicides.
  • It meets the needs of exporters.
  • It is economical and reduces the costs of pest control programs.
  • It is used in programs to break resistance developed against other compounds.
  • The pre-harvest interval (PHI) is: between 7 to 12 days, depending on the type of crop.

General Usage Rate:

50 cm³ per 100 liters of water.

Crop Pest Application Rate Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI)
Eggplant Red Spider Mite 50 cm³ / 100 liters of water 5 days
Tomato Whitefly 50 cm³ / 100 liters of water 7 days
Vegetables Worm mite 50 cm3 / 100 liters of water 5 dayes
Apple - Pears - Grapes - Citrus  Scale insects 50 cm3 / 100 liters of water 7 dayes
